The Vinnytsia Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital has received 25 folding beds for parents of hospitalized children. From now on, families will be able to stay close to their children right in the wards, day and night.
The delivery of these beds took place as part of the family-centered care program implemented by Ronald McDonald House Charities Ukraine, with support from the Religious Administration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ukraine.
The delivery event was attended by Natalia Zabolotna, Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration; Olga Zadorozhna, Director of the Health and Rehabilitation Department of the Vinnytsia RMA; and Lidiya Didenko, Director of the Vinnytsia Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.
“We are doing everything possible to make the hospital space family-centered. Anyone who has been in a hospital with a child knows how vital it is to have their loved ones close by. Our facility currently treats over 18,000 children from all over Ukraine, yet the hospital does not have dedicated beds for parents. The folding beds provided by the foundation allow parents to stay by their child’s side, sleep, and rest. This gives the child a sense of security, which in turn helps them recover faster,” said Lidiya Didenko, Director of the Vinnytsia Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.
The new beds were specially designed for medical use—they are mobile, easy to clean, and made from durable medical-grade materials. Along with the beds, the hospital received pillows, blankets, and bedding sets.
In total, we plan to deliver 1,400 beds to 46 children’s hospitals across Ukraine.
